Image Servers
Information Technologies' VisualCat service provides web-access to digital image collections through a museum-quality web interface. It is a portal to UD and non-UD collections that require controlled access for digital rights management and curatorial maintenance. VisualCat also provides excellent presentation tools for class use and curatorial tools for building collections. VisualCat is used for the collections of the University Museums, Art History Visual Resources Collection, and others.
Based on the LUNA software suite
(Luna Imaging, Inc.)
VisualCat also provides access to the
Luna Commons,
hundreds of thousands of high-quality images in the federated collections of academic institutions, museums and other non-profit organizations.
Contact IT for futher information on VisualCat.
The UD Library also supports several tools for digital collections: ARTstor (primarily for non-UD collections of high-quality images), ContentDM (for
Special Collections' digital image collections) and DSpace (for the Library's
Institutional Repository).
