July 18: IT hosts second UnConference for UD tech staff
IT is hosting its second unconference for UD tech staff on July 18. An unconference is a collaborative meeting with an open agenda: participants propose topics, vote on the topics to be discussed during the event’s breakout sessions, then lead and contribute to the discussions.
DNSChanger virus: Most UD computers should be safe
Even though the national news media is hyping that "64,000 US computers" could lose Internet access on Mon. July 9, if your computer has UD-supplied McAfee VirusScan software, your computer should not be affected.
Aug. 21: Clicker training
The University of Delaware's IT Academic Technology Services is inviting faculty to participate in training sessions designed for new and established i>clicker adopters.
By the end of the session, i>clicker classes will be ready for the fall semester as participants will:
Set up i>clicker classes;
Learn the four question strategies that promote deep learning;
Identify student resources to include in their syllabus;
Discuss technology goals with colleagues and ATS staff; and
Enjoy lunch as they reconnect with their teaching peers.
