IT offers advice about using cloud service providers
In response to a request from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, IT has released a document that offers advice to UD faculty and staff about using off-campus "cloud service providers" to store UD information.
IT launches new anti-phishing site
In response to requests from the campus, IT has launched a new blog to display examples of phishing scams that have hit the UD campus.

IT Tech Fair to be held on Oct. 19
Whether you're on the cutting edge, or just getting started, the University of Delaware IT Technology Fair is the place to have close-up, hands-on experience with technology.
The campus community is invited to attend the fair on Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Trabant University Center Multipurpose Room. Registration is encouraged, but not required. A buffet lunch will be provided.
UD observes National Cyber Security Awareness Month
Since 2004, EDUCAUSE, the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and other national organizations have declared October to be National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NSCAM), and the University of Delaware has joined in the annual effort to promote cyber security to the campus community.
This year's theme for NSCAM, "Our Shared Responsibility," emphasizes that the actions each individual takes have a collective impact. When each person uses the Internet securely, it is more secure for everyone.
BlackBerry Mobile devices may experience outages
As of 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, IT is aware of only two UD BlackBerry users who may have been affected. However, the outage may still affect other UD BlackBerry users. (Original publication date: Oct. 12, 2011)
